Team

Ben Miller - Managing Director

Ben grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to launching Cloverbrook Capital, Ben was Chief of Staff and worked in business operations at Ladder, an insurance technology firm. Ben's role covered operations, marketing, sales, finance, and fundraising during the company’s $100M Series D.

Before Ladder, Ben was a management consultant at Bain & Co. His clients spanned a range of industries including retail, infrastructure, and technology. Ben also did pro bono work for several local education nonprofits.

Ben graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with honors in economics.

Advisors

  • Adit Khorana is the Chair of O’Melveny’s Worldwide Technology Transactions Group. He represents clients in the structuring and negotiation of complex domestic and international technology transactions, including strategic alliances, joint ventures, and other collaboration and partnering arrangements, acquisitions and spin-offs, licensing, development and distribution arrangements, and litigation settlements. Additionally, he provides strategic counseling regarding all aspects of intellectual property and technology law.

    Adit advises technology companies, from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations, with particular emphasis on semiconductor, mobile/wireless, artificial intelligence/machine learning, robotics, virtual/augmented reality, cloud computing, big data, Internet, computer hardware/software, and consumer electronics companies. Adit also regularly counsels emerging technology companies regarding business and revenue models and strategies, as well as a broad range of technology and intellectual property issues.

    While attending Stanford Law School, Adit served as an editor of the Stanford Law & Technology Review.

  • Jamie is Ladder’s CEO and Co-Founder. Rooted in personal experience, his deep belief that life insurance is a fundamentally good product for families and communities has inspired him to build Ladder and close the $16T life insurance coverage gap in the US.

    Prior to co-founding Ladder, Jamie was Partner at Aldenwood Capital and at Oak Hill Investment Management. He also worked at NextCard, pioneering instant credit and the first ‘internet enabled’ Visa card. Jamie is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Harvard Business School.

  • Susan Ganz is the former CEO and Chairman of Lion Brothers, a leading designer and manufacturer of apparel brand identity systems. Under her leadership, the company evolved to to focus on merging creative designs with scientific and technological advancements leading to innovative products for notable apparel brands, corporations and nonprofits. Ganz led the company through its 2023 sale to Avery Dennison (NYSE: AVY).

    Susan Ganz is a strategic advisor to Avery Dennison and an advisory board member to PRS Guitars. She has also served as chair of the Baltimore branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and Vice Chairman of the Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland. Susan has also served on the corporate boards of edtech, industrial, consumer products, and technology companies.

    Susan is a graduate of the University of Florida and received her MBA from the Wharton Business School. She also serves on the Wharton Graduate Executive Board.

  • Jerrod Vaughan is the CEO of New Leaf Publishing Group, a leading homeschool curriculum and Christian book publisher. He came to New Leaf Publishing Group after 10 years at the management consulting firm Bain & Company. His primary focus at Bain was Commercial Excellence and growth strategy. Prior to joining Bain, Jerrod served as the chief-of-staff to Richard Fisher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, as well as a public education teacher and volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps (Bulgaria). Jerrod holds an MA in International Relations & Economics from The Johns Hopkins University, as well as a BA in Business Administration / Political Science from Baylor University.

  • Ted is the owner and CEO of AMA Systems, LLC based out of Columbia, MD. His company works with most Fortune 1000 corporations (such as American Express, VISA, etc.). AMA Systems is one of the largest point redemption fulfillment houses in the world. Another division of the company deals with international trade. Ted was invited to speak in Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum on world hunger and new technologies. In addition, he is a philanthropist and supports many local and national charities.
